Hi all,
I would appreciate your help on the following. In the simplest document I make with Kp-Fonts, I get LaTeX warnings concerning the font shape. For instance:
Code: Select all
LaTeX Font Warning: Font shape `U/msa/m/n' in size <4.56004> not available
(Font) size <5> substituted on input line 37.
LaTeX Font Warning: Font shape `U/msb/m/n' in size <4.56004> not available
(Font) size <5> substituted on input line 37.
LaTeX Font Warning: Font shape `U/msa/m/n' in size <4.08003> not available
(Font) size <5> substituted on input line 37.
LaTeX Font Warning: Font shape `U/msb/m/n' in size <4.08003> not available
(Font) size <5> substituted on input line 37.
So, I was wondering if there is any way I can fix this.
Thanks

Let us see this document and tell us which LaTeX system you are using. Insert as very first line the
\listfiles command to your code and post the section between
*File List* and
*********** from the log file.
Best regards

I can't see any source code as requested but I see the problematic
gb4e package in your list. So, please post a
minimal working example (MWE) that reproduces the warnings. Use only packages that are really needed. For the the present you can test the following code.
Code: Select all
\documentclass[11pt,a4paper,english]{article}
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage[latin9]{inputenc}
\usepackage{babel}
\usepackage[margin=2cm]{geometry}
\usepackage{kpfonts}
\usepackage{blindtext}
\begin{document}
\Blinddocument
\end{document}
Whenever posting code, please use the code environment by clicking the according button right above then input window.

If I understand what you're saying, I'm copying the source code below:
Code: Select all
\documentclass[a4paper,dvips,12pt]{article}
\usepackage[margin=2cm]{geometry}
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage[fulloldstylenums]{kpfonts}
\usepackage[latin9]{inputenc}
\usepackage[greek,english]{babel}
\usepackage{setspace}
\usepackage{natbib}
\bibpunct[, ]{(}{)}{;}{a}{}{,}
\usepackage{pstricks}
\usepackage{pst-plot}
\usepackage{pst-node}
\usepackage{pst-xkey}
\usepackage{pst-jtree}
\newdimen\dimpuba
\newdimen\dimpubb
\newdimen\dimpubc
\newdimen\dimpubd
\usepackage{gb4e}
\usepackage{multicol}
\usepackage{amssymb}
\usepackage[normalem]{ulem}
\interfootnotelinepenalty=10000
\raggedbottom
\long\def\symbolfootnote[#1]#2{\begingroup%
\def\thefootnote{\fnsymbol{footnote}}\footnote[#1]{#2}\endgroup}
\newcommand{\comments}[1]{}
I created the minimal example according to your preamble and I get no warnings even when I add the gb4e package.
Thanks
PS: I thing I was asked to give the log file, not the source one.

Ok, it appears that the problem derives from the \thanks command. This is when I get a warning about the font shape (i.e., the symbol defined). If anyone knows a way out I would much appreciate it.
Thanks
