Downloading MiKTeX 2.6

Post by sveioen »

I'm having trouble downloading the complete MiKTeX 2.6 system. I'm getting timeouts over and over again after the cm-super package. Is this just me?

Must be a problem on your side. I'm using MiKTeX 2.6 since its release date. I downloaded and installed a complete system. Maybe there is too much traffic on the server at the moment. So you may try another time to get full access to the packages. Or choose another server in the MiKTeX Net Installer.

I tried it from several different servers, and I got the error on all. The solution was to download cm-super from the web browser, and then continue download from the MikTeX installer.

Have you tried a different mirror site?

Yes, I tyried many alternative mirror site. I keep getting the very same error message. I also get this error message when I try to install new packages to my previous MiKTeX version. So it looks Error 1ae prevents any useful interaction.

Use the current MiKTeX Net Installer 2.6.2718 for downloading. New and updated packages now come in a new archive format (LZMA). This may be the reason for your download problems.

That is exactly what I did. I have the current Net Installer. I run it several times. But I can never go beyond that 'Error 1ae' message you see. sk
