the physical size when I attempt to print the pdf of my poster is 8.5 x 11.
I can scale it to print but it may get blurry.
Using overleaf.
How do I change the print size before I create the poster, so that when I export a pdf it will be that size.

Was aiming for the standard 36x48.

I used this in my code:
\setlength{\paperwidth}{46.8in} % A0 width: 46.8in
\setlength{\paperheight}{33.1in} % A0 height: 33.1in

Which poster class are you using? Please show us a minimal but working example of what you've tried to change the paper size.
