Hi guys,
my first post here.
I am trying to use the sidecap module (http://theorie.physik.uni-konstanz.de/j ... cap.module)to create figure captions on the right-hand side of my figures.
I can add this package to Lyx, and it allows me to insert the new figure type: insert-->float-->Figure (side captions).
If I insert my figure into this float and try to compile to pdf, I get the errors:
"Missing number, treated as zero"
Description:
\end{SCfigure}
A number should have been here; I inserted `0'.
(If you can't figure out why I needed to see a number,
look up `weird error' in the index to The TeXbook.)
-"Illegal unit of measure (pt inserted)"
Description:
\end{SCfigure}
Dimensions can be in units of em, ex, in, pt, pc,
cm, mm, dd, cc, nd, nc, bp, or sp; but yours is a new one!
I'll assume that you meant to say pt, for printer's points.
To recover gracefully from this error, it's best to
delete the erroneous units; e.g., type `2' to delete
two letters. (See Chapter 27 of The TeXbook.)
They are given out three more times.
Does someone know what's going on? I am a Latex noob and I am in a hurry with my thesis so I don't have the time to read through endless manuals.
Best,
SL

float captions to righthand side
We also do not have the ability to divine what piece of markup caused the violation without seeing a
minimal working example. Please post one.
