However, if - in TeXnicCenter - I try to build a DVI-file from:
an error occurs and no output is generated. The error reads as follows:\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
Hello possible world!
\end{document}
I have tried searching for the file in the installation folders, but because these are network-PC's no automated search is possible (files not indexed). Can anyone tell me why pdftexconfig is necessary and where it should be?! I can't find file 'pdftexconfig'.

! Emergency stop.
1.7 \input pdftexconfig
No pages of output.
FYI: If I try to output directly to PDF it does work - the file is created - but I get a warning:
Is this in any way related?pdfTeX warning: (file pdftex.map): cannot open font map file
