Page Layout ⇒ new page

Hi, can someone tell me how to change to a new page? I tried but it did not work successfully. I'm wondering what the problem is.
here is what i wrote:

\newpage
\title{Reference List}
\maketitle

reference 1.\\

reference 2.
...

welcome to the forum!

\newpage is correct. Insert \newpage when you would like to start a new page, such as

Code: Select all

\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
\newpage
\title{Reference List}
\maketitle

reference 1.\\

reference 2.
\newpage
text on the next page
\end{document}
