Thank you very much for the answers. Indeed, the Spanish Babel package does it automatically, as indicated by localghost. Works transparently.

To have a cross-reference with no page number one uses |see. For example,
\index{hi|see{hello}} produces hi, see hello.
How can I do the same for a spanish text, where instead of "see" I need "véase" to appear?
