sort items alphabetically

Hello all,
anybody knows if it is possible to sort items alphabetically? or is there any alternative?
I'm composing a list of definitions using description, what I want is:

TERM1
____definition of term 1
TERM2
____definition of term 2
...

and they shall be sorted out by the term names.
