I don't know how OpenOffice and WP exactly work, but in some text editors (like MS Word), you have normally an option 'paste special...' if you want to copy text to a document.
One of the ways you can than paste text is for example 'unformatted Unicode'. That option should just copy the text as ...

Re: Coloring Paragraph fails
I want exactly to produce what you are showing (the text in blue color and italic font).
I'm not making a 'questions and answers' section for a test/exam or so. There are no multiple answers a user has to choose from.
I will try to do something with an environment and let you know the results.

Coloring Paragraph fails
Hi,
I have a 'questions and answers' section in my document. I want the answers to be formatted in a special way: italics and blue text.
Example document:
\documentclass[a4paper,pdftex]{report}
\usepackage{xcolor}
\newcommand{\answer}[1]{\textcolor{blue}{\textit{#1}}}
\begin{document}
\answer ...

Re: Jump to line with error
I'm also using pdfLatex, and can't jump to the line with the error by double clicking on an error, so I expect the cause of the problem lies in using pdfLatex.

Re: What package should I load for unicode characters?
Have a look at the 'ucs' package written by Dominique Unruh.
And look at 'Omega'.
And look at 'Omega'.

Re: Help for a beginner
Latex can be difficult for a beginner, but that depends on the kind of document he/she wants to make. If you want to use MS Word for example to get the same quality result, then I think MS Word is more difficult than Latex.

Re: Add self-defined commands to the auto-complete list
Thanks Rockstar1707! It works!
Of course, I will probably lose my changes to that file if I install a new version of TeXnicCenter....so it would be nice if there is a 'user-file' (for 1 user? for all users? Both?) to which we can add these kinds of commands....maybe even via a GUI

Add self-defined commands to the auto-complete list
I've defined a new command with \newcommand.
I would like that new command to show up in the auto-complete list.

Re: hyperref(?): making a PDF file read only
I also think that pdftk is the right tool...Thank you very much, Thorsten! I didn't know that tool.
I downloaded a hyperref manual of September 2008 which describes more than 50 commands targeting PDF files, so I expected hyperref might be able to do that :)
