In my experience the 1.5 figures work ok. So then is there an easy way to turn off that warning in teXnicCenter so that I can detect when other important warnings exist?

I am having the same problem. It seemed to work at one time, but now I can't seem to add any more words to my user dictionary. It is using my user dictionary for checking however. Does this make any sense?
