Kris is right. TeXnicCenter has nothing to do with MikTeX. During installation or if run for the first time TeXnicCenter just looks for a TeX installation and if it finds MikTeX it will create the correct output profiles. Set Yap's default render method to DviPS. Makes Yap slower, but it displays Postscript inclusions. See also the discussion on http://dojo.miktex.org/blogs/christian_ ... 6/328.aspx.

Theoretically yes.

However, this is for mysterious reasons (entirely due to SWP) very difficult in practice. I had (finished my thesis last month) the same problem. Very basic tex-code will do, but more advanced latex-code might even cause SWP to crash entirely. The problem is the terrible LaTex ...

It's possible.

Got to build->define output profiles. You'll see all your (possibly automatically created) output profiles. Copy the relevant profile (select target profile and press 'copy button' at the bottom of the list) and give the new profile an useful name.

Now the slightly tedious part ...
