Hi there,
This may be a little hard to explain, but I am basically trying to write down a couple of derivatives that are evaluated at certain points, and to denote this I want to use vertical lines and underscores. Here is my code:
\bar{\sigma}\left(\frac{d^2 \bar{h}}{d \bar{x}^2}\left|_{\bar{x}=0 ...

graphics trouble
Hi,
I'm struggling along with my 1st LaTex document. I'm trying to insert two figures on one page. The following seems to work quite nicely:
\begin{figure}[h]
\centering
\includegraphics[scale=0.75]{c:/ma50176/graph1.jpg}
\includegraphics[scale=0.75]{c:/ma50176/graph2.jpg}
\label{fig3}
\end{figure ...

I'm using TeXnic Center on XP for the first time. I'm having a few problems at the moment:
1) Sometimes when I go back to my work after leaving it overnight for example, I've lost the last paragraph/page of work I've done. I'm definitely saving it and even back it up onto a USB. Still ...
