I'm trying to display a graphic (pdf file prepared with tikz) along side of an itemized list of points I want to make about the graphic. But no matter what I try, the list keeps appearing above the graphic, and the graphic is being pushed down so it's only partly visible on the slide.
Here's what I ...

Using LyX to add comments to concepts in Beamer
I've used LyX for a while, and now I'm working on my first Beamer presentation. I want to display concepts and then add a comment to the picture. I can think of two approaches for what I want to do, and I'm hoping for help with at least one, preferably both, of them: i.e., how to implement each ...

The module requires a package that is not available in your LaTeX installation
I've never installed a module in LyX before and am having a heck of a time getting the sage module to work. I've followed this page's instructions for installing sagetex on a multiuser system and specifically for LyX here . But because I'm using MacOS 10.14, I installed the sage.module in ~/Library ...

Tool to make single *.bib file compatible with both BibTeX and BibLaTeX
*.bib files for BibTeX and BibLaTeX are mostly compatible, but they have some differences. For example, BibTeX uses the journal field, but BibLaTeX uses the journaltitle field.
I'm using Zotero with the Better BibLaTeX and LyZ extensions, which add BibLaTeX -compatible items to my *.bib files. But ...

Biber cannot find <filename>.bib file with OneDrive
Well after considerable additional testing & work, I finally got this to work as desired. The main point for posterity is that there seems to be a bug in LyX. If one uses Insert > List/TOC > BibTeX Bibliography > Add > Browse, LyX hangs and freezes. I timed it, and LyX was frozen from 10:35 to 11:55 ...

Biber cannot find <filename>.bib file with OneDrive
Following up my earlier post, I decided to problem-solve by isolating different issues. So I created a simple article-class document in the regular, local file system and made a small References.bib file in the same folder. I also ran Disk Utility several times and uninstalled LyX then reinstalled ...

Biber cannot find <filename>.bib file with OneDrive
Hi,
I am running LyX 2.2.2 on MacOS 10.12.2 with MacTeX 2016basic installed (plus a few packages added via TeXLive). The document I am working on has several sections, so a parent folder holds common files and a master document, while each section of the document is stored in a subfolder as a child ...

British spelling throws "Undefined control sequence" error
I'm using LyX to write a paper that is typeset by LaTeX. U.S. English is the language of the paper, but a quotation has British spelling, "utilisation." LyX uses Hunspell for spell checking, and it flags this word. In the spell check dialog box, I set the word to British English, then the word is no ...

biblatex-chicago & origdate
Is there any trick to getting biblatex-chicago to format original dates properly?
According to the Chicago Manual of Style 16th ed., if one is using the author-date format, citations should have the original date in square brackets and references should have it in parentheses. To wit:
